Kansas SBDC at JCCC
In late 2014, Sharon Auck was referred to the Kansas SBDC at JCCC while engaged with Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program at Babson College.
She was looking for a little help. What she found was so much more.
Working with her consultant Stephanie Landis, Sharon stepped back to take a “fresh approach” to her 27-year-old business. Landis and Auck worked together to analyze how Fresh Approach Cleaning Professionals LLC was performing and how it could do things better.
They developed a comprehensive strategic plan that would keep moving the business forward in both a positive and profitable direction. While working together, they dug deep into specifics that would be key to measuring success, including establishing customer metrics and defining what a profitable customers looked like. They developed several elements of Fresh Approach’s plan including their elevator pitch, sales process, sales tools, customer surveys, and customer relationship management approach.
To identify new opportunities for growth, Landis pulled secondary market research that helped Fresh Approach identify key potential customers. Together the team of Landis and Auck continue to refine Fresh Approach’s marketing collateral.
In the midst of their work, James Hart, managing editor of Thinking Bigger Business Media, approached Sharon to write Cleaning Up After a Crisis – an article profiling her successful company – in the June 15, 2015 issue of Thinking Bigger Business.
According to Landis, “Sharon embodies all that is truly inspiring in an Entrepreneur; embracing long hours, willingly doing anything she would ask of her employees, tenaciously pushing through hard times, and most of all, believing that she is in the right place doing the right thing. I am in awe of what she has accomplished, both personally and professionally, and am grateful for the opportunity to be part of her resource team.”
